We are so excited by the interest we’re seeing in our new line of 100% Merino Wool Designer Felts in 3mm and 5mm thicknesses!

Felt is an environmentally friendly, non-toxic, sustainable, recyclable material that was first crafted thousands of years ago and remains irreplaceable in its uses and unique characteristics today. While some man made materials have been substituted, none match the wear ability, flexibility and ‘Green-ability’ of Felt.

We began to look at the 5mm Designer Felts to fill the needs of our architect and design friends who were forced to use Industrial Felts to meet their need for thicker felts. Unfortunately, Industrial Felts come in limited colors, usually Grey, Black, White and Pink, and are not manufactured for color so shades vary widely. Those needing more colors or consistent shades of grey were forced to custom die white felt, sometimes in larger amounts than they needed, or abandon their smaller projects as too costly.

We introduced the 5mm Designer Felts with the opportunity for our web guests to vote on their favorite colors, with the promise we would stock the winners. After a few weeks of voting, we were able to select 7 winners and we have needed to restock some colors already! We have continued to add to our stock of 5mm colors and now have most colors in stock or due in stock shortly. Feedback is always welcome!

Recently we decided to add the 3mm thickness to our Designer Felts and we are pleased to note we are stocking this felt in 21 colors! The level of interest in this felt is extremely high, with the same vibrant colors at a lesser thickness and therefore a more pocket friendly cost.

We will be posting some of the wonderful and creative projects these felts are used for and invite others to share how they use this incredible, renewable, eco-friendly material.
